The Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association held our annual Manufacturers/Employers Excellence Awards on May 11, 2010 at the Schuylkill Country Club, Orwigsburg. The following companies were recognized: Manufacturers--D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., Product Innovation; Mrs. T.'s Pierogies (ateeco, inc.), Community Involvement; Solar Innovations, Energy Efficiencies. Employers--Full Service Foods Group, Product Expansion; Quandel Enterprises, Inc., Community Involvement; United States Cold Storage, Energy Efficiencies; PPL Energy Plus LLC, Energy Efficiencies. Honorable Mentions were awarded to Valmont Newmark, Product Innovation; InterMetro Industries Corporation, Community Involvement; Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., Energy Efficiencies; Hazleton Health & Wellness Center, Community Involvement; Schuylkill County Courthouse, Energy Efficiencies.

2010 Administrative Professionals Day

Luzerne County Commissioners Chairwoman Maryann C. Petrilla was the presenter at our annual Administrative Professionals Day luncheon at the Top of the '80's, Hazleton, on April 21st. Commissioner Petrilla (center) was greeted by MAEA President Darlene J. Robbins and MAEA Board Chairman Chris Dende, Mrs. T.'s Pierogies (ateeco, inc.).

2010 HR Professional of the Year

Joanne Reddington, HR Manager at Cardinal Systems, Schuylkill Haven, was named the HR Professional of the Year at MAEA's annual Installation of Officers luncheon on March 9 at the Pottsville Club. She was presented with the award by Stacey Park, Hexcel Pottsville Corporation, 2008's winner.
