Managing a Diverse Workforce

Stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination are bad for business! These beliefs and practices put off people we do business with, and they have an enormous, but silent impact on our own employees and their morale. For some workers, these attitudes inhibit their full participation and commitment; for others, these attitudes discourage and even intimidate them. The effect is seen in turnover, absenteeism, divisiveness, tension, and varying other manifestations of employee dissatisfaction. This program is designed to help individuals examine what diversity means in its broadest sense, appreciate and value these differences, and demonstrate ways that this awareness can have multiple and significant benefits in the workplace.

Program content:

  • To show how broadly diversity can be defined
  • To enable participants to understand that diversity is about more than race and gender
  • To help participants develop new ways to handle issues of workplace diversity in the future.
