DOT HazMat Management

This training course is designed to increase the general safety awareness of personnel whose main responsibility is receiving hazardous materials into their facility, moving it internally to points of use or collection, and for facilities considered to be “Conditionally- Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESGQ). While the focus will be on receiving and moving hazardous materials internally, all aspects of Department of Transportation Hazmat training requirements will be covered. Upon successful completion of the course and passing a test with a minimum score of 80%, participants will receive a Certificate of Training that is valid for three years. 

Program Content:

• Review of requirements for DOT regulations relative to the transportation of hazardous materials
• Definition of “Hazardous Materials”
• Basic safety elements including the recognition and identification of hazardous materials.
• Basic functions required for DOT Hazmat Employee, including basic knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Table, Labels, Placards, and Shipping papers
• Handling emergencies involving hazardous materials (emergency response).
